·         Pengertian

Past Perfect Continuous tense adalah tense yang menunjukkan pekerjaan yang telah terjadi pada suatu waktu dan masih berlangsung di waktu berikutnya pada masa lampau. Pemahaman lebih mudahnya adalah bahwa past perfect continuous sama persis dengan present perfect continuous tense hanya saja waktu terjadinya pada masa lampau.

Positif	S + had + been + V1-ing/present participle
Negatif	S + had + not + been + V1-ing/present participle
Interogatif	had + S + been + V1-ing/present participle

·         Contoh kalimat

Ø  Positif

-          I had been playing football when my friend came to my house.

-          The citizens had been demonstrating

Ø  Negatif

-          I had not been playing football when my friend came to my house.

-          The citizens had not been demonstrating

Ø  Interogatif

-          Had I been playing football when my friend came to my house?
